16-year-old Jacksonville youth charged with murder of infant

A 16-year-old who told police he shook a 14-month-old girl, striking her head on a dresser, has been charged with murder.
Javarris Jawan Lane was initially charged with aggravated child abuse after Alexandria Williams was found unresponsive in a bedroom on Sept. 25, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Alexandria was hospitalized in critical condition then died Thursday. Lane was charged with murder today.
Police said Lane initially said the girl had fallen 20 inches from a bed at the residence where he and the girl lived at 2237 West First Street. He later told detectives she began crying and he shook her, according to the Sheriff's Office. 
Lane used a doll to show detectives how the baby's head struck the dresser twice, according to police.
